Elvis is the No. 2 biggest music artists of all time (U.S.). It is only surpassed by the Beatles, having sold over 118 million units (albums, singles, tapes, disks) and is now the biggest selling solo artist in U.S. history.
There are many, many, it could be already been written about this American music icon, Elvis Presley. So I'll write about the cultural impact Elvis had on music and society in general.
I wrote about the history of rock n 'roll with a friend of mine and guitartist been Elvis came. I said that John Lennon had supposedly once said: "Before Elvis there was nothing."
My friend immediately bristled at the idea. "No way," he replied, he did not invent anything ... roller Chuck Berry and Little Richard playing rock n 'before Elvis ... he received them. Chuck Berry, Elvis starts his ass! "
I told my friend thought he had missed the point. John Lennon and all the others, as Elvis, I knew that the roots of rock n 'roll lay - in the African-American.
